Community Policy

Effective Date: June 12, 2026  ·  Wonay LLC, Phoenix, Arizona

Wonay exists because the internet needs a neutral space. Opinions — even uncomfortable ones — belong here. The goal of this policy is not to police speech. It is to protect people from direct harm and to keep the platform from being weaponized by bots and bad actors.

We will never remove content because it is unpopular, controversial, or critical of a business, government, or public figure. We only act when content causes demonstrable harm or is illegal.

1. Our Principles

🗣️

Opinions are never removed

No comment is deleted because someone disagrees with it, finds it offensive, or finds it inconvenient.

🤖

Bots and coordinated manipulation are removed

Inauthentic actors undermine the community. We target the manipulation, not the message.

🏛️

Harm is the line

Content that causes direct, individual harm — doxxing, credible threats, illegal material — is not speech. It's a weapon. That's where we draw the line.

👁️

Community judgment, not ours

Downvotes can hide content from the default view, not delete it. The community governs tone; we govern legality.

2. What Is Always Allowed

Protected Expression

Wonay is not built for comfort. It is built for truth. A low rating on a business or a harsh critique of a news article is exactly the kind of speech this platform exists to protect.

3. Community Hiding

Comments are never automatically deleted by community vote. However, a comment may be automatically hidden from the default view when the community has collectively downvoted it past configurable thresholds. Both of the following must be true simultaneously for hiding to trigger:

Hidden comments display: "This comment has been hidden by the community." Any user can tap to reveal and read it in full. The original author can still see it. It is not deleted.

Brigading protection is built in. A downvote cascade on a URL with very few verified views will not trigger hiding — a minimum view count is required before community hiding can activate.

4. Hard-Delete Categories

The following categories of content will be permanently removed. These are narrow, legally grounded, and non-negotiable.

Category What It Covers Legal Basis
Doxxing Private personal information (home address, phone number, employer, daily schedule, family members) posted without consent with clear potential for harassment or stalking Harassment statutes, state stalking laws
Credible Threats of Violence Specific, credible threats of physical harm directed at identified individuals or groups. Does not include hyperbole, frustration, or fiction. 18 U.S.C. § 875 (interstate threats), state criminal threat statutes
Illegal Content Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) and other content that is per se illegal under U.S. federal law 18 U.S.C. § 2256 et seq. (PROTECT Act)
Spam and Coordinated Inauthentic Behavior Bot-generated content, impersonation of real people or organizations, coordinated brigading campaigns, and commercial spam. Satire and parody accounts with clear labeling are not impersonation. CAN-SPAM Act, platform integrity
Formal Clause — Hard Delete Authority Wonay LLC reserves the right to permanently remove, without prior notice, any content that falls within the four categories enumerated in this Section. Removal decisions in these categories are final. Content falling into these categories may also be reported to applicable law enforcement authorities as required or permitted by law, including pursuant to 18 U.S.C. § 2258A (CSAM reporting obligation to NCMEC). Removal of content under this Section does not constitute a waiver of any claim Wonay LLC may have against the posting user.

5. How to Flag Content

Every comment on Wonay has a flag option. Tap it to report content you believe falls into a hard-delete category. Flags are reviewed by the Wonay team.

Flagging is not a downvote. Use flags only for content you believe meets one of the four hard-delete criteria above. Frivolous or bad-faith flags may result in loss of flagging privileges.

You can also email dev@wonay.app with a direct link to the content and a brief description.

6. Moderation Stages

Moderation capacity grows as the platform grows.

1

Beta — Manual Review

Flags go to a queue reviewed directly by the founder. Response target: 48 hours. Small user base means direct oversight is feasible.

2

Post-Beta — Assisted Review

AI-assisted moderation triages clear cases. Ambiguous content surfaces to a human reviewer queue. Response target: 24 hours.

3

Scale — Trust and Safety

Dedicated trust and safety function. Moderator hired. Policy refined based on observed content patterns. Public transparency reporting.

7. Appeals

If your content was removed and you believe it was removed in error, email dev@wonay.app with the subject line "Content Appeal" and a description of the content and why you believe the removal was incorrect. We will review and respond within 7 days during beta.

Appeals are not available for content in the four hard-delete categories. These decisions are final.

8. Account Actions

Depending on the severity and pattern of violations, account actions may include:

Single violations of the hard-delete categories may result in immediate permanent ban at Wonay's sole discretion. Repeated minor violations follow an escalating response pattern.

Bot accounts and coordinated inauthentic behavior networks are terminated immediately upon detection, with no warning.

9. Our Anti-Censorship Commitment

Wonay will not:

If a government or legal entity demands removal of content we believe to be protected speech, we will challenge that demand where legally and financially feasible and notify affected users as permitted by law.

Formal Clause — Anti-Censorship Commitment Wonay LLC expressly disclaims any obligation to remove lawful speech on the basis of reputational harm to any third party, political pressure, or advertiser preference. Wonay LLC's content moderation practices are limited to the categories enumerated in Section 4 of this Policy and actions necessary to maintain platform integrity against inauthentic behavior. This commitment is subject to binding legal obligations under applicable law and valid court orders.
