1. Who We Are

Wonay is operated by Wonay LLC, an Arizona limited liability company. When this policy says "Wonay," "we," "us," or "our," it means Wonay LLC. Wonay LLC is the data controller for all personal data processed under this policy.

2. What We Collect

Account Information

When you create a Wonay account, we collect:

• Email address (required for authentication and account recovery)
• Username / display name (chosen by you; can be a pseudonym)
• Country of residence (used to display a country flag on your comments; required at signup)
• Password hash (we store a cryptographic hash, never your plaintext password)
• Account creation timestamp

Content You Create

Comments, ratings, and votes you post are stored on our servers and associated with your account. This content is public by default — it can be read by any Wonay user.

Usage Data

When you interact with a URL in Wonay, we record that a view occurred and how long you spent on the page (dwell time). This data is used to calculate verified view counts — a spam-prevention mechanism. It is stored at the URL level, not tied to your personal account in a way that reconstructs your browsing history.

Device and Technical Data

We collect standard technical information when you use the app or extension, including device type, operating system version, app version, and general error logs. We do not collect precise device identifiers or advertising IDs.

Feedback

If you submit feedback through the in-app feedback tool, we collect the text you provide along with any optional context you include.

Subscription Data

If you subscribe to Wonay's paid tier, we record your subscription status. Payment processing is handled entirely by Apple (App Store) or Google (Play Store). We do not receive or store your payment card information.

3. What We Don't Collect

This is important.

• Your browsing history is not sent to our servers. The My Web tab — your list of visited sites — exists only on your device in local storage. It is never transmitted to Wonay.
• We do not build behavioral profiles for advertising.
• We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to third parties.
• We do not use third-party advertising SDKs.
• We do not collect location data beyond the country you select at signup.

4. How We Use Your Data

We use the data we collect to:

• Operate and maintain the Wonay service
• Authenticate your account and keep your session secure
• Display your comments, ratings, and achievements to other users
• Calculate verified view counts for spam and manipulation prevention
• Enforce our Community Policy (moderation)
• Respond to support requests and feedback you send us
• Maintain the security and integrity of the platform
• Comply with legal obligations

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or sale to third parties.

5. Sharing and Disclosure

We share your data only in the following circumstances:

Service Providers

We use Supabase (database infrastructure) to store account and content data. Supabase operates under a data processing agreement. Data is stored in the United States.

Legal Requirements

We may disclose data if required to do so by law, subpoena, court order, or a valid legal process. We will notify you of such a request where legally permitted to do so.

Business Transfers

If Wonay LLC is acquired or merges with another entity, your data may be transferred as part of that transaction. You will be notified via email or in-app notice before any such transfer, and this privacy policy will continue to apply.

6. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you request deletion of your account, we will delete your personal account information within 30 days. Public comments you have posted may be anonymized rather than deleted, because removing them would break conversation threads visible to other users.

Aggregated, non-identifiable data (such as URL-level view counts) may be retained indefinitely.

7. Your Rights

Regardless of where you live, you have the following rights with respect to your personal data:

• Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Correction: Request that inaccurate data be corrected.
• Deletion: Request deletion of your account and associated personal data.
• Portability: Request your data in a portable format.
• Objection: Object to certain processing of your data.

8. International Users

Mexico — LFPDPPP

If you are located in Mexico, your personal data is processed in accordance with the Ley Federal de Protección de Datos Personales en Posesión de los Particulares (LFPDPPP). You have the right to Access, Rectification, Cancellation, and Opposition (ARCO rights). To exercise these rights, contact us at dev@wonay.app. We will respond within 20 business days.

European Economic Area, UK, and Other Jurisdictions

If you are located in the EEA, United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction with comprehensive data protection law, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict processing of, and port your personal data, and to object to processing. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. Our legal basis for processing your data is the performance of our contract with you (operating your account) and our legitimate interest in maintaining platform security.

Cross-Border Transfers

Your data is stored in the United States. By using Wonay, you consent to the transfer of your data to the United States, which may have different data protection laws than your country of residence.

9. Children

Wonay is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 13. If we learn that we have collected data from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, contact us at dev@wonay.app.

10. Security

We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (TLS), hashed password storage, and row-level security controls on our database. No system is completely secure. If you discover a security vulnerability, please report it responsibly to dev@wonay.app.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the service evolves. We will notify you of material changes via email or in-app notice at least 14 days before they take effect. The effective date at the top of this page will always reflect the current version. Your continued use of Wonay after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
